Samsung tries a big LCD with a baby monitor attached
Samsung unveiled its SyncMaster 2263DX monitor, a dual-screen display, with one 22-inch LCD display and an additional 7-inch connected monitor on a swiveling, positionable arm to create a multi-screen work environment in a single package.
Optimized with Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 in mind, the 7" monitor can be used for unobtrusive web conferencing, or for running instant messaging clients without infringing upon work space.
The 22" screen has a 160/160 viewing angle and 1680x1050 resolution, while the 7" screen has an 800x480 resolution. It features simple plug-and-play USB 2.0 connectivity an HDMI input, and will be available for $549.99.
Samsung's CES booth will be showing off two OLED monitors, measuring 14.1" and 31", an "ultra-slim" 52" LCD TV with 50,000:1 contrast and 550nit brightness that is expected to be released in 2009, and last but not least, the world's largest (82") Quadruple full-HD (QFHD) LCD TV. "Quadruple Full-HD" means the resolution of this giant screen is 3840 x 3160, four times higher than HD.
