Newest Version Of Compuserve 2000 Unveiled

America Online's CompuServe subsidiary has introduced
the newest version of its CompuServe 2000 online service, upgrading
such features as e-mail and instant messaging, and providing better
tools for online shopping.

CompuServe added that its consumer electronics Rebate
Program - available at such retailers as Circuit City, Office Depot
and Sears, as well as from PC manufacturers HP, IBM, eMachines and
Gateway - has added more than 1.5 million new members to the
service in the year-and-a-half since its inception.

The program offers consumers who purchase computers or other
electronic equipment from participating retailers a $400 rebate
upon signing a three-year service agreement with CompuServe for the
CompuServe 2000 Premier service, priced at $21.95 per month for
unlimited use.

New features include enhanced e-mail, along with new support
for HyperText Markup Language (HTML) - which lets members read
and send graphically enhanced mail and documents to anyone on
the Internet - and a built-in media player which supports Web
audio and video content.

A new toolbar highlights the most commonly used features, and
there are enhancements to CompuServe's Buddy List feature. The
upcoming "Shopping Assistant" will appear automatically onscreen
when members visit merchant partners' sites, providing such
information as customer satisfaction reviews, and will feature a
new price comparison tool that will help find the best price on the
Internet.

The new version is available for Windows 95, 98, or Windows
Millennium Edition, and Windows 2000. Members can get the new
version of CompuServe 2000 by either visiting Keyword: Upgrade
to download the new software or by calling 800-848-8199. It
can also be downloaded from http://www.CompuServe.com.
