Apple MP3 Software Burns Brightly

Apple users have given a big
thumbs-up to MP3 music and increased control over the
technology they use to play the music they've bought - rushing
to download free CD ripping and burning software just released
by Apple.

Apple bills iTunes as free and easy-to-use -
"it lets you do the things your geekier friends are talking about."

According to Apple, downloads of iTunes have surpassed
275,000 in the first week since it was made available on the
Apple Web site.

The software download lets Apple users convert songs on CDs
to MP3 music files they can manage and play back on their
computer. It also makes burning easy - Apple users with a
CD-RW drive can produce their own custom CDs.
