Tannhauser Gate Opens 'Mimesis' Beta

Tannhauser Gate has begun accepting applications for an open beta test of its upcoming Mimesis multiplayer online role-playing game. Although the closed beta will end on December 12, those who apply before that time will automatically be accepted into the open stage of testing. "We are confident that this will allow us to avoid the over-early-game-release - something very common in the gaming market nowadays...Open beta tests will let us bring in a few last improvements and test the upgraded hardware of the game servers," the company wrote on its Web site.

Mimesis Online is a first person game set in a three-dimensional world, which makes use of the latest graphic cards, and DirectX and OpenGL libraries. There is a subscription fee to play online, however the installer may be downloaded freely and each player may take part in a short trial period before paying.

According to Tannhauser Gate, Mimesis "is outfitted with a highly developed, fully original and copyright RPG rule system. Gameplay takes place through the Internet on servers specifically assigned to running the game. This allows a huge number of players to take part in the game at the same time. They can explore different lands, transferring between servers, and can cooperate with other players, or fight them and the inhabitants of the world.
You create your character and decide about the basic parameters defining their physical and mental characteristics, and about the appearance of your character, their name and so on."

Applications for the open beta will only be accepted until Wednesday, December 12. Those wishing for an early look at the final release may pre-order Mimesis Online. To be a part of the open beta, simply complete the Mimesis beta test registration form.
