Microsoft Edge Extensions
F1000 Browser Extension is an add-on for Microsoft Edge to save and annotate articles on the internet.
It requires a free F1000 account, and adds a F-icon to Edge's toolbar. A click on the icon displays options to add the current article to an existing or new project.
You may add highlights and notes, and full web link, citation data and PDFs if they are offered without restrictions.
New Windows 10 apps and games
A companion application for the website ddiary.de, DDiary is a school planner designed to share appointments and a timetable with classmates.
It features a timetable that highlights all upcoming events (homework, exams, tests, festivities) and supports private events on top of that.
Experience Index System Assessment Tool
The benchmark application runs tests to compute the device's Experience Index.
Microsoft removed the Experience Index in recent versions of Windows. It tests the computer's processor, memory, graphics and hard disk performance.
This simple PDF application offers two PDF-related options: you may use it to compress or encrypt PDF documents.
Both processes are straightforward and require that you select a PDF from the local system that you want to process.
Compression happens automatically once you have made a selection and there is no option to change the compression parameters.
Encryption prompts you for a password that is used to protect the document.
Scorpio Player is a free media player for Windows 10 that plays most multimedia formats. It supports background play, multiple instances, media management and more.
SimpleOne Label Maker is a free application to create and print labels.
It supports a wide variety of label formats, e.g. mailing, address and shipping labels, and comes with an editor that you use to customize labels before printing them.
It lacks the option to create custom format labels however.
Notable updates
Screenbits screen recorder update brings option to run on system start, set delays before recording, and more.
