Last month, we told you about the droolworthy Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 (G95NC) monitor. Today, the company announces availability for pre-ordering that display. For those keeping tabs on the evolving monitor market, this 57-inch display is stepping into some new territory.
The Neo G9 claims to be the world's first monitor to support Dual 4K UHD (DUHD) resolution, coming in at a hefty 7,680 x 2,160 pixels. Essentially, it offers the real estate of two 32-inch 4K UHD monitors placed side-by-side, which might appeal to multitaskers or those looking for expansive screen space.
A notable feature of the monitor is its inclusion of DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity. This promises users access to nearly 8K resolution1 at a 240 Hertz refresh rate, coupled with a 1 millisecond gray-to-gray response time. However, it remains to be seen how these specs translate to real-world performance and user experience.
The monitor did catch some attention at CES 2023, securing a Best of Innovation Award. It incorporates a 1000R curved Quantum Mini LED display and is powered by Quantum Matrix Technology.
