Microsoft confirmed a new Remote Desktop connection issue this week that is affecting Enterprise and business customers for the most part. Microsoft did adjust the safeguard hold for devices with certain games or apps, so that more devices may be able to upgrade to Windows 11 2022 Update.
Microsoft says that Windows 10 22H2 is now available for broad deployment
While Microsoft would prefer that everyone upgrade to Windows 11, this is really not happening to the extent the company would hope. There are still millions of users sticking with Windows 10 for one reason or another, and for these people there is a big update to install.
Just as Microsoft released Windows 11 22H2 (the 2022 Update), so the company also released Windows 10 22H2 a little while ago. Now, in a significant but quiet announcement, Microsoft says that the update has been designated for broad deployment, meaning that it is available to a larger number of eligible Windows 10 devices.
Windows Subsystem for Linux exits preview as Microsoft Store app becomes the default version for Windows 10 and 11
Microsoft has made two big announcements about Windows Subsystem for Linux. Not only is the Microsoft Store app the default version, it is also losing the Preview label as it is now generally available for Windows 10 and Windows 11.
The change means that Microsoft is switching away from offering WSL as an optional component of Windows itself. The company says that it has brought the app to the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 users following community requests, pointing out that this means that "Windows 10 can now run Linux GUI apps".

Use this secret trick to add version and build information to your Windows desktop
Insider versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11 come with a watermark on the bottom right-hand side of the desktop that shows the version of Windows you’re running and the current build number. This makes it easy to see which build you’re on, so you’ll know whether or not you’re up to date.
This watermark gets removed from stable Windows 10 and 11 updates (and from Insider builds rolled out close to the release date), but you can easily add it back, so you can see at a glance which version of Windows you’re on.

Windows 11 continued its snail-paced climb last month as it reached a usage share of about 13.6 percent. It trails Windows 10 by a large margin, and even Windows 7, which reaches end of support in January 2023, is not far behind Microsoft's newest operating system.
People just aren't switching to Windows 11

Microsoft issues emergency patch after breaking OneDrive with Windows 10 update
Windows 10 users who installed Patch Tuesday updates this month have reported that OneDrive and OneDrive for Business is broken.
The problem relates to the KB5018410 update and others released after it. People affected by the issue report app crashes, being unable to sign out of OneDrive, problems with syncing, and various other symptoms. Microsoft acknowledged the problem fairly quickly and has now issued an emergency fix (the KB5020953 update).

Google Chrome will no longer be supported on these Microsoft Windows versions
Google Chrome is a great web browser for many reasons, including its cross-platform nature. You can run Ubuntu Linux, macOS, Windows, and Android, for instance, and use the same Chrome web browser on all of those operating systems. Thanks to cloud data syncing, you can have a seamless experience too.
With the upcoming Google Chrome 110, however, there will be two fewer operating systems supported. You see, early next year, Google will be dropping support for its web browser on both Windows 7 and 8.1.
