New Bamboo Server features help businesses manage growth
Growth is the goal of most businesses, but it can create problems for IT teams as they hit resource limits, lose track of processes, and struggle with inefficient collaboration, security risks and user management problems.
Development tools company Atlassian is announcing the release of its latest version of Bamboo Server continuous integration and deployment tool that manages the roll out of automated software builds.
Key features of Bamboo 5.11 are an increase in the number of remote agents from 100 to 250, improved diagnostics and better integration. It's now possible to use REST APIs to trigger deployments for continuous delivery. There are also new admin permissions that make it easier to control which users are able to create new repositories and which can only use the already existing ones.
"We know what limitation feels like and the anxiety teams can experience when hitting the agents cap," says Sepideh Setayeshfar, product marketing manager at Atlassian. "So, we addressed it by building the next step on the scale ladder. It's now possible to run up to 250 Elastic Bamboo build agents. If you have 100 agents in the works but are still slowed down with builds waiting in the queue get those remaining 150 agents up and running today. In Elastic Bamboo, all traffic sent between the agents located in EC2 and the Bamboo server goes through an SSL encrypted tunnel. We highly recommend our Elastic Bamboo users to use VPC when scaling up to 250 agents as it allows eliminating the need of tunneling".
