Are you spending too much of your life using technology?
We all spend more time using computers, mobiles and other devices, but exactly how much of your life is devoted to using technology?
UK technology rentals chain BrightHouse has done some research which shows that 37 percent of Brits spend more than two hours every day browsing the web. What’s more the average 18-year-old spends 343 hours a year checking social media.
Other findings include that for the average male 50 percent of their day is spent using a computer, mobile phone, console or in front of the TV. On average three hours and 28 minutes are spent daily on a computer. The biggest part of this time is spent browsing the internet, with the typical 18 year old spending 1.5 hours on this activity.
Paul Stevens, search marketing manager of BrightHouse says, "Am I surprised at the amount of time spent? Not really! I'd be the first to admit I spend an unhealthy amount of time on my Xbox, phone and laptop. I don’t think it’ll slow down for some time either. With the Internet of Things rolling out across everyday objects eventually we'll be connected 100 percent of the time".
How much time do you think you spend using technology? BrightHouse has put together an interactive calculator to help you find out.
