Here's when you can buy Apple Watch Nike+
Nike has long been a major player in all things sports. Its footwear and other apparel can often be found on the world's most popular athletes. True, the company pays those folks big bucks to wear the gear, but that does not detract from the fact that it is also quality stuff. Trust me, a comfortable pair of Nike sneakers is well worth the premium.
Nike and Apple have long been in business together -- even before the iPhone -- with Nike+iPod. The collaboration between these two strong brands makes a lot of sense. This Friday, the Apple Watch Nike+ will finally be available to consumers. Since Apple's wearable is so focused on fitness, this is likely the most cohesive and focused collaboration between the two companies.
"With the brightest display Apple has ever made, metrics are easy to read, and if you decide to take a post-run dip in the pool, Apple Watch Nike+ is water resistant 50 meters. The Nike+ Run Club app is seamlessly integrated into Apple Watch Nike+ and offers daily motivation through smart run reminders, challenges from friends and even alerts informing when the weather is right to get outside. Training data, including pace, distance and heart rate are available at a glance, and through shared run summaries, the app promotes friendly competition, even allowing users to send fist bumps to each other, right from the wrist", says Apple.
Trevor Edwards, President, Nike Brand explains, "Apple and Nike share a passion to make life easier and more fun and we’re excited to bring a great running experience to consumers around the world. Apple Watch Nike+ with Nike+ Run Club app combine to deliver a powerful device with a simple running solution for all athletes and is another example of Nike's commitment to bringing innovative products to the market".
Here's the deal folks, from a hardware perspective, Apple Watch Nike+ is the same as other aluminum Apple Watch Series 2 models (it is not available in steel). It even comes in both 38mm ($369) and 42mm ($399) sizes. What sets it apart are the exclusive watch faces, apps, and bands. In other words, you are buying a Nike experience -- not Nike hardware.
So, when can you buy it? It will hit stores this Friday, October 28, in many regions, including North America and much of Europe. Some countries will get it on the 29th (Bahrain, Greece, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE) and the 30th (Israel).
You can purchase it from Apple directly, of course. If you want to get it from a different retailer, however, it can be found at DICK'S Sporting Goods, Macy's, and other authorized stores.
It will be available in the following colors.
- Black/Volt
- Black/Cool Gray
