SoftPerfect RAM Disk no longer free for personal use
SoftPerfect has released SoftPerfect RAM Disk 4.0 with a major license change: the program is no longer free for home users.
After the 30-day trial is up, version 4.0 now requires a $29 license for home users. As before, it’s $49 for businesses.
If you’re happy with a previous version, there’s no need to upgrade and you can carry on using your existing build.
SoftPerfect is also offering a free license to anyone who helps create or improve one of the program’s translations. Grab the official Language file for more details.
Alternatively, you could switch to one of the competition.
Dataram RAMDISK is easy-to-use, but its free-for-personal-use edition is limited to disks of 1GB.
AMD Radeon RAMDisk is based on Dataram technology, but supports drives up to 4GB.
IMDisk Toolkit is more technical than the others, but it’s also free, unrestricted, and has many other image-mounting and other drive management features.
SoftPerfect RAM Disk 4.0 is available as a 30-day trial for Windows XP and later.
