New Edge Extensions
Ghostery is a popular browser extension that is now also available for Microsoft Edge.
The extension detects and blocks tracking scripts on websites to improve the loading time and protect your privacy while you are browsing the Internet using Edge.
The extension works exactly like the versions for other browsers. It displays the number of trackers found, and gives you options to block none, some or all of them in an easy to use interface.
The second big extension release this week but this one seems to be plagued by bugs right now.
The extension does require a RoboForm Everywhere account on top of that which makes it useless for users of the desktop RoboForm application.
Still, it allows you to make use of password management, login, bookmarking, note taking, and identities features of RoboForm.
New Windows apps and games
The game is a modern take on puzzle games. While it is still a jigsaw puzzle game at its core, it is pushing things by adding animation to the mix.
All puzzle pieces are animated which adds a time component as you need to make sure that the animation flows correctly from one piece to the next.
This can be quite difficult, and even more so when you take into account that all pieces can be rotated.
The game features daily challenges as well as a variety of puzzles in easy, medium and hard difficulty.
You may battle it out against friends in a turn by turn multiplayer game also.
This is a fantastic game if you like puzzles.
Endless Fables: The Minotaur's Curse
Here is another Artifex Mundi adventure game for you. It is a hidden object adventure game with puzzle elements.
The game takes you deep into the magical world of ancient Greek.
You are to investigate a secret mysterious cult and prevent the rebirth of the Minotaur.
The game takes you from Paris to Crete, and you will visit fabled locations such as the labyrinth that kept the Minotaur captive.
HanGaroo is a hangman style word guess game. It supports several categories, animals for instance which you can play through.
A description of the word that you need to guess is given on start, and it is up to you to tap or click on the right letters to fill out the blanks.
You win if you manage to do so without losing the last of the joker birds.
The game is a bit heavy on the ad-side of things, as it pushes full screen video ads regularly to the screen.
Timesheet+ is a free app that helps you organize your life better. It supports monthly and weekly views, and supports easy drag and drop operations to add new events to the calendar.
Drag and drop is used to adjust the time as well, and you may use copy operations to copy events to other days.
The app ships with a couple of default events but you may add custom ones to it.
Another interesting feature is the ability to back up data to OneDrive, and restore it at any point in time.
The app is the free limited version of the typing learning app Typing Fingers.
It teaches you how to type with ten fingers on a US/EN qwerty keyboard.
The instructions begin with the right posture before you are instructed on how to hover your fingers over the computer keyboard.
The free version is limited to one of the available 32 levels. It is probably enough to give you a good understanding of what to expect.
