Dashlane teams with Intel to improve password protection

Security breaches have been one of the major themes of 2016, so going into the new year it’s no surprise that companies are keen to try to make things more secure.

Password manager Dashlane is announcing enhancements to its software to make use of Intel Software Guard Extensions, a powerful security technology built into the latest Intel Core processors.

Dashlane is taking full advantage of Intel’s built-in hardware security to make our users’ passwords safer than ever".

Dashlane safeguards user data with a master password which is not stored on any Dashlane servers and no Dashlane employee has access to. It also encrypts all data with AES-256 and hosts it on Amazon’s AWS. This technology combined with Intel SGX will provide an extra layer of hardware-based protection protecting the user’s data and sealing them to the device, so guarding against a hacker exporting data to another machine.
