Circuit City to Try Mac Sales Again

Although Circuit City has tried unsuccessfully once before to sell Apple products within its stores, news surfaced Wednesday that the two companies are preparing to try it once again. Much like the Best Buy deal, a select number of Circuit City stores will carry most of Apple's computer lineup. To ensure the program's success, select employees visited the Cupertino campus to receive training on selling the Mac effectively.
Representatives for Circuit City indicate that the pilot program would last several months, after which a decision would be made on whether or not to expand the program. This differs from the first attempt in 2000, where the products were made available in all of the company's then 570 stores. The program ended a year later after Apple began opening its own retail locations.
