Microsoft Preps IE 5.01 SP1

Microsoft today released the first beta of Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 1 to testers. In a message sent to testers this afternoon, Microsoft stated "IE 5.01 SP 1 provides a premier Internet Client for corporations and end users. Our goal is to bundle and deliver external customer QFEs, fixes escalated via support channels as well as public security fixes that were released after IE 5.01 gold. The bundling of such fixes in this Service Pack release ensures that our users maintain a fast, reliable and robust experience with the lowest ownership cost." Testers may download the latest SP1 betas here, however those running Windows 2000 should not install this service pack.
