Microsoft Updates Messenger, Offers Free Phone Service

Microsoft Corp. has teamed up with Internet telephony company, Net2Phone Inc., to offer free long-distance phone calls to users of its instant messaging product. The newly-released MSN Messenger 3.0 - hoping to take on AOL's ICQ and Instant Messenger - will include a long-distance phone service with free calls to the US and Canada from almost anywhere. Requirements are a PC with sound card, microphone and a Hotmail or Passport account on the Web. Download MSN Messenger 3.0 from FileForum.
