Tech Giants Publish Web Service Spec

Two months after the announcement of WS-Addressing, Microsoft has again joined Sun and other industry leaders including AMD, Dell and Intel in publishing the Web Services Management specification.
WS-Management provides a common way for systems to access and exchange management information. The spec includes remote management for devices ranging from handheld devices to PCs, servers and even large datacenters.
"With this specification, management is now a core part of the Web services world and no longer an afterthought or just something that takes place in the datacenter," said David Mendlen, director of Web services at Microsoft. "This is an important step for IT managers who have been looking for management systems to fully take advantage of the inherent interoperability that Web services provide."
Microsoft plans to integrate WS-Management into the next release of Windows Server and MOM.
