Basketball is one of my favorite sports to spectate, but holy cow -- the NBA is atrocious lately. Professional basketball is just a poor product right now, and I don't just say that because I'm a Knicks fan. Many modern pro players seem to lack fundamentals, leading to sloppy play and boring games.

Luckily, college hoops is still an exciting affair, and March Madness -- the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament -- is almost here. If you are a fan of this tournament, and I hope you are, you can experience it this year on the Roku platform.

"It's March Madness time again, streamers! I don't know about you, but I feel like I might be coming down with something and need some quality time on my couch [cough, cough]. Today I'm happy share that NCAA March Madness Live, the ultimate digital destination for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, is now available on Roku players and Roku TV models in the U.S.", says Bernarda Duarte, Director, Content Acquisition, Roku.

Duarte further says, "beginning with the announcement of the brackets on Selection Sunday through the final buzzer in Houston, pay TV subscribers will be able to watch all of the action via NCAA March Madness Live, accessible Thursday, March 10. Subscribers will have unlimited live streaming coverage throughout the entire championship and access to all games airing live on TNT, TBS and truTV by logging in with their TV service provider information".

I know what you are thinking, folks -- if you need to be a paid TV subscriber to take advantage, why not just watch it through cable or satellite TV instead of Roku? Fair question. Speaking for myself, not every room in my house has a cable connection. It would be easy to set up a small TV and Roku in one of these rooms.

Another reason, of course, is the wonderful Roku interface. If you want to consume copious amounts of March Madness content, your TV provider will probably be deficient from a usability standpoint. Roku's aggregation of NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tourney content should be a more satisfying experience.
