Motion Stills helps you create GIFs from Live Photos
If you like taking Live Photos with your iPhone then you probably want to share those moments with other folks. One of the best ways that you can do that is by converting your Live Photos to GIFs, so that everyone can enjoy them even if they do not have an iOS device or Mac.
By now there are loads of apps that let you do that, but Google believes that there is room for one more. So, its Research arm has introduced Motion Stills, which has a neat little trick up its sleeve.
Using some fancy technology, Motion Stills will stabilize your GIFs, getting rid of any shake that's occurred while taking Live Photos. Google Research has explained how it works in this blog post, but what you need to know is that the end results look great. You can see it in action below.
The GIFs that Google has shown appear to be professionally-made. You can focus on the content and the message rather than noticing the amateur manner in which it has been recorded, which is what you are looking for when you want to impress someone with a GIF.
On top of stabilizing your Live Photos and turning them into GIFs, Motion Stills will also let you share the end results on different channels and create "epic movies" by joining GIFs.
If you want to give Motion Stills a go, hit this link to download the app. As you might expect, it works only on iOS 9.0 and later, but is compatible with iPhones, iPod touch devices and iPads.
