Apple Finishing Leopard, Tiger Update
Apple is said to be close to finalizing the next version of Mac OS X, while at the same time preparing its final update for Mac OS X 10.4, AppleInsider reports.
According to the site's sources, Apple is in the process of sending training materials to its support staff on the various features of Mac OS 10.5 "Leopard," including installation and Boot Camp.
ThinkSecret reported last week that its sources claimed the new OS would be launched on October 26, just inside the company's target October timeframe. Apple's last build to developers was on September 21, and the site said history would guide it to believe another build will be out around this time.
However, no new build has appeared, although MacRumors said that a final "gold master" release may be on its way in the coming days, as internal builds were still progressing.
On the flip side of that, Apple is also prepping a final update to the current version of Mac OS X, which is 10.4.11. The update is said to have fixes for Safari, NFS, and Dashboard, among other items - about four dozen fixes in total.
