At Computex 2017 in Taiwan today, ASUS unveiled several new devices including the convertible ZenBook Flip S. Measuring just 10.9mm thick, the 2-in-1 is heralded as the thinnest in the world, and, weighing in at just 1.1kg, it's light as well.

The laptop has a 13-inch screen which features a 360-degree ErgoLift hinge which allows for conversion into a tablet. Starting at $1,099, this is a premium offering from ASUS, and the specifications do not disappoint.

The Asus Zenbook Flip S UX370UA -- to give it its full title -- features an Intel Core i7-7500U or Core i5-7200U CPU and a custom cooling system that is a mere 0.3mm thick. The display is a 4K UHD multitouch NanoEdge, near-bezel-less unit, there's a full-sized backlit keyboard, and the 39Wh battery should power the laptop for 11.5 hours, according to ASUS. The battery supports fast charging meaning that the 45 watt USB-C power adaptor can supply 60 percent charge in just 49 minutes.

There are three storage options to choose from: 256GB SATA III SSD, 512GB SATA III SSD, and 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD. ASUS says the PCIe 3.0 option is three times faster than the SATA III. Display options are 1,080x1,920 or 3,840x2,160, and there is the choice between 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR3-2133 MHz RAM. There is also a fingerprint sensor measuring just 16 x 3.6mm.

There's no word on an exact release date at the moment, but the ASUS ZenBook Flip S is due to arrive this summer
