Four-hundred-eighty-five in a series. Welcome to this week's overview of the best apps, games and extensions released for Windows 10 and 11 on the Microsoft Store and elsewhere in the past seven days.
Microsoft fixed an issue in its Edge browser that blocked upgrades to Windows 11 from Windows 10 devices. The upcoming Windows 11 feature update, version 22H2, will get several new features, including tabs in File Explorer.
Microsoft Update Catalog downloads are now served via HTTPS, an important security change.

New Windows apps and games
Windows users get another Linux distribution that they may install on their devices using the Windows Subsystem for Linux.
AlmaLinux's main focus is Enterprise users, and most home users may want to avoid this for Linux distributions that are designed more for home environments.
Nirsoft's portable tool ExtPassword may recover passwords from external drives and from the active Windows system.
It supports retrieving web browser and mail program passwords, security question answers, Windows credential files, wireless network keys, dialup and VPN passwords, and more.
Microsoft Journal is not a new application, but it has a new name and it graduated from Microsoft Garage.
The new version of the app supports Windows 11 default styles and materials, improves file system queries for home screen files and folders, and raises the minimum platform requirement to Windows 10 version 20H2.
Notable updates
AMD Adrenalin 22.4.1 adds support for Unreal Engine 5.0.
Vivaldi 5.2 for Windows gets a Reading List panel for better management of reading list items, and tracker and ad-blocking stats on the New Tab page.
