Microsoft releases Windows 11 Build 22518 with Spotlight Collection backgrounds and voice access

Some Windows Insider builds of Windows 11 are more exciting than others. Today’s new flight, Build 22518, introduces a number of big new features, including Spotlight collection backgrounds, an updated entry point for Widgets with weather, and voice access.

This new build also makes it easier to install WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) from the Microsoft Store.

Microsoft releases Windows 11 Build 22509 with new layout options for Start

Having taken a week off last week for Thanksgiving, the Windows 11 development team today rolls out a fresh new build to Insiders in the Dev Channel.

The key new addition in Build 22509 is a set of improvements designed to make it easier to browse the web in Microsoft Edge using Narrator, but that's not all. The clock and date will now show on secondary monitors, and there are also new layout options for Start, as well as Settings changes.

Microsoft releases Windows 11 Build 22499 with new taskbar sharing feature

Wednesday isn’t typically the most exciting day of the week, but if you’re a Windows Insider on the Dev Channel you’ll know this is the day when -- baring a few rare exceptions -- Microsoft rolls out a new flight for Windows 11.

Last week the software giant added the ability to mute calls via the taskbar, and today in Windows 11 Build 22499 it takes things a step further, adding the ability to share content from open app windows on the taskbar to Teams meeting calls.

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for Microsoft to deliver another new build to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel.

Windows 11 Build 22494 fixes a lot of bugs, but also introduces some known issues. The biggest addition to this build is the ability to mute and unmute the microphone directly from the taskbar during a Microsoft Teams call.

Redesigned Windows 11 Paint app rolling out now

Microsoft has completely redesigned its forthcoming operating system, and Windows Insiders have been testing it out for months, ahead of its official launch on October 5.

The apps that come with the new OS have been updated also, and Insiders in the Dev Channel now have the chance to try out the all-new Paint tool, which Microsoft describes as a "modern spin on the classic app".

Microsoft releases Windows 11 Build 22463, fixes taskbar

At a special hardware event hosted earlier today, Microsoft unveiled a number of new Surface devices designed to run Windows 11.

Following that, the company rolls out Windows 11 Preview Build 22463 to Insiders in the Dev Channel. This flight fixes a lot of problems, including the issue impacting the Taskbar where icons appeared misaligned and/or cut off.
