CORSAIR launches DOMINATOR PLATINUM Special Edition 32GB DDR4 memory kits
When buying PC components for a build, there are many things to consider. While brand, performance, and quality are obviously the most important factors, appearance sometimes matters too. True, not everyone cares about how computer parts look, but some people take pride in the overall appearance of their PC -- especially when a window-case is used.
CORSAIR is a well-respected company when it comes to memory, and its latest offering will likely bolster those opinions. The newly-launched DOMINATOR PLATINUM Special Edition DDR4 Memory kits are not only fast, but drop-dead gorgeous too.
"Adding a new level of refinement and distinction to the long-standing CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM legacy, DOMINATOR PLATINUM Special Edition is available in two exclusive new styles, mirror finish Chrome and brushed aluminum Blackout. Precision crafted in strictly limited quantities of 500 kits each of 32GB (4x8GB or 2x16GB) 3,200MHz DDR4, DOMINATOR PLATINUM Special Edition also boasts improved integrated lighting via an illuminated light-pipe, patented DHX cooling technology and full XMP certification for one-touch overclocking", says CORSAIR.
The company further says, "designed and crafted to meticulous standards, DOMINATOR PLATINUM Special Edition is CORSAIR’s most elite memory ever, combining the classic and iconic DOMINATOR PLATINUM design with two new stunning finishes. DOMINATOR PLATINUM Special Edition Chrome’s ultra-reflective chrome surface starts with anodized aluminum that is precision polished to a mirror finish and trimmed with sandblasted matte edging for an unprecedented display of beauty and power. In contrast, the ultra-sleek DOMINATOR PLATINUM Special Edition Blackout is engineered from black anodized aluminum, finished with polished black edging, and hand sorted to maintain a flawless finish. Each kit is individually numbered using high precision laser engraving, guaranteeing exclusivity".
The 32GB kits are available immediately, starting at $300. You have two choices of colors -- "Chrome" and "Blackout". Once you pick a color, you must also select a configuration -- 4 x 8GB or 2 x 16GB. You can see the SKUs below. The sticks feature 14-16-16-36 timings and 1.35 voltage.
Are these RAM kits expensive? Absolutely -- you can get similarly performing memory for less money. With that said, how many sticks of RAM are individually numbered works of art? This unique product may not be for everyone, but if you have the money to spend, and you value quality products, CORSAIR's DOMINATOR PLATINUM Special Edition sticks may be worth it.
