Centercode Seeks OnlineBeta Testers
Seeking to aid companies in improving product development and project management, San Clemente, Calif. startup Centercode launched OnlineBeta, a complete beta testing services suite, late last month. OnlineBeta is comprised of three core features: Web-based project management software dubbed Connect, an extensive database of beta testers, and services to guide companies through their beta cycle. Centercode is seeking dedicated individuals to become evaluators and trial upcoming products and technologies.
At the center of OnlineBeta lies Connect, proprietary software developed with flexibility in mind. Rather than solely target large corporations as its competitors do, Centercode hopes to support the needs of any size test -- from those spanning months with hundreds of testers, to week-long betas requiring only a handful.
Filling such a large gap in the market will not be a simple task however, especially given current economic conditions. But Luke Freiler, Centercode's Chief Technology Officer, remains confident that companies will see the power of its services. "We recognize the value that tester feedback and clear communication channels can provide to a product's development cycle. We also realize that each organization is unique in both its structure and needs. That's why we've created OnlineBeta to be not only feature-rich but also flexible enough to meet each product and company's unique requirements," Freiler said.
"Combined with our comprehensive service bundle and the availability of additional support services, OnlineBeta will revolutionize the beta testing environment as we know it today," he added.
Backed by experienced beta testers and coordinators, such as former 3Com Beta Test Manager Mike Fine, Centercode may be able to do just that. "Not only does Centercode's application suite have all the functionality I had when I was at 3Com, but it is so much more. [Connect] is more feature rich and completely flexible," Fine wrote in an e-mail to BetaNews.
Centercode has begun taking signups from those interested in becoming OnlineBeta evaluators. The application is extremely straightforward, requiring detailed information regarding hardware setup and previous experience. Evaluators will be selected for projects based on these variables. In addition, testers will be rated on performance during each project, and be eligible to win prizes or compensation for their work. To learn more and join the Centercode team, visit OnlineBeta.com.
