The KickassTorrents forums are alive and kicking

Just a few days ago, KickassTorrents was dealt a blow when Artem Vaulin was arrested and the site seized by feds. Of course, it didn’t take long for mirrors to spring up, keeping KAT online in new locations. But the original team has also taken steps to ensure that the community lives on.

The KAT team has set up Katcr.co, home to a forum complete with many familiar old faces. This time around, there are no torrents -- this is strictly a forum -- although the KAT mirrors are still to be found online.

Katcr.co is all about keeping the spirit of KAT alive, and the team behind the site is determined that no matter what happens with the main site, the community will live on. There are no plans to try to rebuild the original site in a new guise, and TorrentFreak reports that the team neither has access to original site code, nor is in touch with Artem Vaulin.

Speaking to TorrentFreak, team member Mr.Black said:

We need to remember that Kickass Torrents is not simply about uploading, the heart and soul of KAT is our members, which are family and family is important as we all know. Nothing can ever take that away and no matter what happens we will not let our community down.

We guarantee that KAT will continue in one form or another and we will come back stronger than ever.

In the meantime, he issues a warning about the mirrors that are springing up: "Please be aware that there is no legitimate fully-working KAT site available so be cautious and never attempt to login to any fake sites that may appear online."
