Google can now help you find the cheapest flights

Google Flights cheapest tickets

You can save big on plane tickets. The trick, as you know, is to buy them at the right time. And since it may not be easy to foresee, Google Flights has received an update to let you know when is the best time to take out your credit card.

With the holiday season just around the corner, Google says that 69 percent of the US leisure travelers worry about finding the cheapest flights or making the right decision when buying their tickets, so Travel will now inform users when it expects prices to change.

"After selecting a specific flight, a notification may appear letting you know when the current fare is expected to expire and how much you can save if you book now", says Google. Users who are keeping an eye on a certain route, but haven't decided on a certain flight, will get tips on finding out the best prices, based on things like alternate airports, dates, and historic prices.

Users can also get email notifications, not just push notifications. Over the coming weeks, price increases and fare expirations will roll out "everywhere" the service is offered. Google notes that this will not impact real-time notifications when prices actually go up or down.

Another improvement to Google Flights is the new ability to track and manage saved flights from a smartphone. The service also gets an explore feature, to help you find interesting destinations based on what sort of vacation you would like to have.

Google is now also making it easy to find only the deals available for hotels, bundling them together in a Deals tab. Loyalty members will also get notifications when savings are offered on their favorite hotel's website.
