New digital assistant answers data-related questions

In our private lives we're used to getting answers quickly from digital assistants. So far though this is something that hasn't really taken off in business environments.

That could be about to change as data search specialist Knoema launches Yodatai, a bot that's designed to answer data-related questions.

Working with public data as well as internal business intelligence data, Yodatai's AI interface works with existing chat platforms Slack, Facebook Messenger, and Skype. Users can instantly get answers to questions regarding both public data on markets and industries, as well as private corporate data, without leaving their messaging tool.

"Companies can now easily get answers about market and industry data, as Yodatai is the first digital assistant to work with public data as well as with corporate databases," Vladimir Bougay, CEO of Knoema, says. "Just like Google broke open the Internet, Knoema was made to break open data. We wanted to liberate data from reports and databases, and incorporate it directly into the workflow of employees, whether or not they have analyst experience. Yodatai is the next logical step towards that goal; it's a better-than-human assistant right in your favorite messaging app."

Yodatai has a number of pre-built integrations, and data from any database such as Oracle or other internal systems can be easily connected too via APIs. Using AI technology, Yodatai can answer difficult questions and also add information on previous years, with relevant graphs and charts, and more.

A fact-checking function is in the pipeline. For example, if someone makes a statistics-based claim on Twitter, users will be able to merely mention Yodatai, and the bot will respond with relevant information relating to the claim -- politicians beware!

You can find out more and try out Yodatai for yourself on the company's website.
