Enterprise IT leaders plan to cut cloud spending

A new study from Vega Cloud on the use of cloud software and services by enterprise IT executives shows 48 percent expect to reduce their IT spending a little or a lot in 2023.

Almost half of IT pros see a rise in their Kubernetes spending

A new survey of 1,000 cloud developers from Civo finds 47 percent have seen an increase in their year-on-year spending on Kubernetes clusters.

Of those who have seen costs rise, the majority saw a rise of up to 25 percent in year-on-year spend, and a significant group (10 percent) had seen a more than 50 percent increase. This is partly a result of increased adoption as 57 percent of respondents have seen an increase in the amount of Kubernetes clusters running in their organization over the last year.

IT outages cost over $12,000 a minute

The average cost of an IT Outage is $12,913 per minute according to a new report from AIOps automation specialist BigPanda.

Produced in conjunction with Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), the report also finds a correlation between IT outage costs and the size of an organization, as businesses with more than 20,000 employees lose an average of $25,402 per minute due to outages, translating to more than $1.5 million per hour.

A new report published today by business monitoring firm Anodot reveals 49 percent of businesses find it difficult to get cloud costs under control, and 54 percent believe their primary source of cloud waste is a lack of visibility into cloud usage.

The report, based on a survey of over 130 US-based IT directors and executives, shows 91 percent of respondents report they currently have IT infrastructure in the cloud, while 60 percent say that migrating more workloads to the cloud is their top cloud initiative in the coming year.
