TCL FLIP 4 5G flip phone helps you escape smartphone overload

Are you tired of staring at screens all day? Looking to unplug, unwind, and maybe even spend more time enjoying real life? Well, TCL thinks it has just the solution with its newly released FLIP 4 5G. This back-to-basics phone delivers just enough functionality to keep you connected without dragging you into an endless scroll.
Old-school flip phones are clearly making a comeback, and it’s not just about nostalgia. You see, a growing number of people are ditching smartphones in favor of simpler devices that reduce distractions. The FLIP 4 5G fits right into that trend, offering a modern take on the classic clamshell design, complete with 5G connectivity, a long-lasting battery, and essential features like calling, texting, music playback, and even access to some basic Google apps.
TCL K32 brings Android 15 and 5G to Metro by T-Mobile

If you’re looking for a new Android smartphone and don’t want to break the bank, TCL might have just the thing you need. You see, the company has released its new K32 smartphone, and it’s already available from Metro by T-Mobile here. Impressively, it costs only $119.99 and still manages to bring 5G speeds and Android 15 to the table. Wow!
The K32 features a roomy 6.75-inch HD+ NXTVISION display, which means you get decent visuals for things like YouTube, social media, and video chats. It isn’t going to rival a flagship phone, of course, but for this price point, it’s pretty impressive. Around back, there’s a 13MP hybrid camera that handles casual photos, while the front-facing 5MP shooter should be fine for selfies and video calls.
TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G comes to Verizon and Total Wireless for just $99

TCL is back again with yet another affordable Android device, and this one will make your eyes thank you. The 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G is now officially available through Verizon and Total Wireless, giving more people access to what TCL is calling its most eye-comfortable smartphone yet. If the name sounds familiar, it technically launched already -- on Boost Mobile back in April.
This isn’t your typical budget phone. TCL has loaded it with a 6.8-inch FHD+ NXTPAPER 3.0 screen that cuts down on glare and blocks up to 61 percent of harmful blue light. What makes it stand out, though, is that it still keeps the colors punchy and the screen crisp. For folks who binge videos or spend hours reading, this phone aims to be easier on the eyes without going full e-ink.
TCL D1 Fingerprint Smart Lock offers fast unlocking and local data storage for privacy-focused homeowners

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your front door with a smart lock but don’t want your data floating around in the cloud, TCL may have the perfect solution. You see, the company has officially launched its D1 Fingerprint Smart Lock, a product designed to make home security both simple and private -- and yes, it is available to buy right now from Amazon for $89.99.
One of the big selling points is speed. The D1 uses a Swedish-made FPC fingerprint sensor with 508 DPI resolution, unlocking your door in just 0.3 seconds. TCL also worked an AI self-learning algorithm into the mix, which means the lock is supposed to get better at recognizing your fingerprint over time, even if your fingers are wet or dry.

TCL ION X Android smartphone comes to Metro by T-Mobile

A new TCL smartphone will be hitting prepaid carrier Metro by T-Mobile tomorrow (January 26). Called "ION X," this Android 12 phone will cost only $119, but if you open a new line of service, you can nab it for free. While that is an affordable price, the specifications of the 4G LTE phone aren't exactly exciting.
The TCL ION X is powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor and comes equipped with a meager 3GB of RAM. Onboard storage is just 32GB. The phone features an edge-to-edge 6-inch display with a rather pathetic 1600×900 resolution. You get a 5MP front camera (with face unlock), a 13MP rear camera, and a respectable 3000mAh battery.
TCL 30 V 5G costs $300 at Verizon

When TV-maker TCL broke into the smartphone market, many pundits and consumers were dubious that the company could be successful. Time has shown that TCL isn't just capable of making quality phones, but the company has been able to price them quite competitively too. Quite frankly, TCL phones and tablets are tremendous values.
TCL recently announced a Verizon-exclusive smartphone called "TCL 30 V 5G." As the name implies, it offers 5G connectivity. While many Android fans were excited about the phone, there was something missing in the initial announcement -- pricing. Well, folks, as of today, we now know how much the device will cost -- $300! Well, technically, it will cost a penny less than that at just $299.99...
TCL 20 series of affordable Android smartphones finally available in the USA

The TCL 10 series of phones are some of my personal favorites. The company managed to break into the smartphone market with devices that were premium despite being very aggressively priced. In other words, TCL proved that even consumers on a budget can have a high-quality handset. Heck, the TCL 10 5G UW in particular was cutting-edge while being priced under $400.
And now, the follow-up to the TCL 10 series is coming to America. Yes, the TCL 20 series of smartphones are on their way to the USA market, and like its predecessors, they too are priced affordably. There is a trio of new smartphones -- TCL 20 Pro 5G, TCL 20S and TCL 20 SE.
TCL MOVEAUDIO S150 Bluetooth earbuds cost much less than Apple AirPods

TCL is on a come-up in a big way. The company's televisions are wildly popular thanks to their low prices and excellent features, and its smartphones are disrupting the industry. For instance, the wonderful TCL 10 5G UW can be had for a song -- a mere $120 when you sign up for a Verizon Unlimited plan. That's definitely the best early Black Friday deal I have seen.
TCL is not only about smartphones and televisions, however. For instance, the company makes tablets too. Today, it launches new wireless earbuds that rival Apple AirPods at a fraction of the price. Called "MOVEAUDIO S150," these Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds are chock-full of cool features -- they are waterproof, have touch controls, and the charging case uses USB-C.
Early Black Friday Deal: Get a great Verizon 5G smartphone for only $120

I am currently testing the TCL 10 5G UW smartphone, and it is absolutely unreal how great it is for only $400. Not only do you get a huge 6.53-inch FHD+ display, but a Snapdragon 765 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (plus microSD slot), and an impressive 4500 mAh battery.
The phone comes pre-loaded with Android 10, but TCL promises an upgrade to Android 11 too. Hell, it even has a 3.5mm headphone jack. And yes, the cameras take excellent photos. This is seriously a lot of value for such a paltry price -- especially since it is compatible with Verizon's super-fast 5G UW network.
TCL 10 5G UW is an affordable next-gen Verizon Android smartphone

5G is no longer the future -- it is the present. There are plenty of phones with 5G radios (including the new iPhone 12 series), and all major cell providers offer this next generation of connectivity. The thing is, not all 5G is created equally. For instance, T-Mobile offers the best 5G coverage, while Verizon's ultra wideband is the fastest. Unfortunately, when it comes to the latter, it can be hard to find an UW tower. So while Verizon has the best speed, it can be hard to achieve it.
With all of that said, Verizon has some hardcore fans that swear by its service, and if that is you, you are probably itching to get a new 5G ultra wideband phone. Sure, you could go with an iPhone 12, but Apple's offerings are quite pricey. Thankfully, up-and-coming phone-maker TCL has a new smartphone that works with Verizon's 5G and is very affordable.
TCL TAB Android tablet for Verizon is a spiritual successor to the Google Nexus 7

Google's Nexus 7 was undoubtedly the greatest Android tablet of all time. Its small size (7-inch screen) and lightweight body made it perfect to hold in the hand, making it ideal for consuming media and surfing the web. Not to mention it was very affordable. Sadly, the search-giant stopped selling the Nexus 7, and then ultimately left the Android tablet market altogether.
While no company can ever fill the hole in our hearts left by the Nexus 7, the TCL TAB Android tablet might actually come quite close. This no-nonsense device from TCL is exclusive to Verizon, meaning it does have 4G LTE connectivity -- very nice. It does not have 5G, however. It does have modern niceties such as USB-C charging, reverse charging, and a fingerprint reader. Its overall look is very reminiscent of the Nexus 7, and despite it having an 8-inch display, its dimensions are very similar too.
Win a TCL 10 Pro Android smartphone in the BetaNews 'Welcome To Summer' giveaway!

Summer is here, but sadly, so too is COVID-19. True, much of the country is starting to "open up," but still, it is probably a good idea to limit your exposure to the public. Don't let that get you down, however, as there is plenty of summer fun to be had at home. If you have a yard, for instance, you can sunbathe and read books while laying on the grass. If you are lucky enough to own a pool, you can swim from the safety of your own property. Apartment dwellers can get in on the action too -- if you have a bathtub, you can sit in it and use your imagination to be transported to a tropical island (in your mind, at least).
Of course, just because it is the summer season, you don't have to do summery things. In fact, if you just want to sit on the couch with your smartphone and play games, watch movies, or listen to music, that is cool too. But what if your current smartphone stinks? Maybe it is slow, has bad battery life, or a cracked screen. If that is you, but you can't afford a new phone, don't worry -- we at BetaNews have five smartphones to give away! Best of all, it is a great smartphone -- the TCL 10 Pro. It has a beautiful screen with HDR support that is just perfect for watching Netflix!
