Corel Recruits Painter, WordPerfect Office Testers

Corel's Beta Team is seeking testers for Painter 8 on PC and Mac, along with version 11 of the company's WordPerfect Office productivity suite. Corel is looking for WordPerfect users who have experience with scripting languages and PDF publishing, as well as working on long documents.

Painter 8 simulates realistic painting styles such as water colors, liquid inks, oil paints, colored pencils, felt pens, chalks, and pastels. Applicants should have experience using Painter, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

More information on Corel's beta programs, and applications for the Painter 8 and WordPerfect Office 11 beta tests can be found on Corel's Web site.

Microsoft Office 11 is also set to enter beta testing within the next month, with testers receiving acceptance letters this week.

"We are writing to let you know that you have been accepted into the Office 11 Individual Evaluation Program for the upcoming Office 11 beta this Fall!" wrote Microsoft beta coordinators. "You will be hearing more about the beta soon, but we wanted to keep you informed about your status in the program. We're very excited about this next version of Office and think you will be also."
