Here is how Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus look
As you may well be aware, Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge Plus will be revealed at an Unpacked event next week, and given the close proximity of the launch, it’s not surprising to see images of the phones leaked.
Check them out above -- they were leaked by the ever resourceful Evan Blass (as spotted by The Verge). Both handsets look pretty much as expected, with the Galaxy S6 edge Plus not changing much as you would imagine, and the Galaxy Note 5 following much in its footsteps with the premium metal and glass design.

The strong iPhone sales also translate into a strong market share. In Europe, Apple's handsets are gaining ground across all five-largest local markets, at the expense of either market leader Android or third-place rival Windows Phone, according to a new report from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.

Microsoft can focus on Windows 10 Mobile now that Windows 10 is officially available to PC and tablet users. While we do not yet know exactly when the software giant plans to introduce the new version of its smartphone operating system, we do have an idea about which Lumia handsets will be the first to receive the coveted software upgrade.
Windows 10 Mobile will be available to virtually all smartphones that run Windows Phone 8.1, partly because the system requirements are pretty much the same. New OnePlus smartphone to launch around Christmas
With the OnePlus 2 officially announced, the Shenzhen-based startup is starting work on its third smartphone, set for launch near Christmas. OnePlus CEO Carl Pei confirmed plans to launch the smartphone around that time in an interview with USA Today.
Pei said it may or may not be higher spec than the OnePlus 2, and did not branch off into any more details. Rumors of the OnePlus Mini, Plus and Ultra have all been published, but we have yet to see any concrete proof of a size change.
Sony unveils Xperia C5 Ultra mid-ranger
Sony has announced a slew of smartphones, with the Xperia C5 Ultra one of the more interesting in the range. The 6-inch phablet comes with a duo of 13MP cameras on the front and back of the smartphone, offering a wide angle selfie camera for all those interested.
On top of the selfie camera, the Xperia C5 Ultra offers a 6-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek CPU, 2GB of RAM and ARM Mali 760 GPU. The smartphone features 16GB of internal storage, with an optional microSD card slot capable of holding up to 200GB of additional storage.
Privacy alert: your laptop or phone battery could track you online

A paper published by a team of security researchers suggests that this represents a huge privacy risk. Using little more than the amount of power remaining in your battery, it is possible for people to be identified and tracked online.
Samsung slashes Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge price by €100
Struggling to return strong profits, Samsung has slashed the retail price of its flagship smartphones -- the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge -- by €100. After the deduction, the revised cost of the 32GB variant Galaxy S6 is €599, whereas its Galaxy S6 Edge counterpart will slightly break the bank at €699. The smartphones were launched just four months ago.
For now, the price reduction only seems to be visible in Netherlands, but as Samsung pointed out earlier during its quarterly earnings call, it will be “adjusting the price" of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge everywhere. The company is also rumored to launch two new smartphones, namely the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 in the coming days.

Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge Plus on the same day, August 13, but only one of the devices will reach the international market.
Instead of focusing efforts on the Galaxy Note 5, as Samsung has done in previous years, the Galaxy S6 edge Plus will be the primary device. The Galaxy Note 5 will only be in select markets, where the Galaxy Note series has performed strongly before.

OnePlus 2, the '2016 flagship killer' launches

Much like its predecessor, the OnePlus 2 isn't a slouch when it comes to specifications. It sports a 5.5-inch display of FHD (1,920 x 1,080) screen resolution. The company says that anything beyond FHD display on a phone "adds nothing to the user experience". The device is powered by a second generation Snapdragon 810 processor, coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage.
