QIAN QMC-VA30-01 is a very affordable curved 30-inch ultrawide monitor

We recently told you about two new Philips monitors that featured OLED screens. While those displays are very impressive, they are also rather expensive -- both cost well over $1,000. With the economy being in the toilet, many consumers simply cannot afford to spend so much money on a computer display.
Well, folks, if you are in the market for a new monitor, but you also need to adhere to a strict budget, a new ultrawide offering from QIAN may be exactly what you are looking for. Carrying the model number of QMC-VA30-01, this 30-inch curved (1500R) monitor has a respectable 100Hz refresh rate, 2560x1080 resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, frameless bezel, and support for both AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync. Best of all, it is priced extremely low!
Philips launches Evnia 42M2N8900 and 34M2C8600 OLED gaming monitors

Today, Philips launches two new gaming monitors under its Evnia brand. The 34-inch 34M2C8600 and 42-inch (technically 41.54-inch) 42M2N8900 are both OLED and feature three input types -- HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C. They both also feature Ambiglow technology which creates a colored halo on the rear of the monitor based on what is being shown on the screen. Very cool.
Besides screen size, there are some very big differences between the two models. The smaller 34M2C8600 has a curved display and Quantum Dot technology -- two things the 42M2N8900 lacks. The top refresh rate on the 34M2C8600 is 175Hz while the 42M2N8900 maxes out at a strange 138Hz. The larger model does have a higher resolution, however.
YEYIAN launches 34-inch Ultrawide 2K SIGURD 4000 curved gaming monitor

Curved televisions are gimmicky and an overall bad idea. I bought a curved 4K TV several years ago, and while I do like it overall, it has a big negative -- it shows a lot of glare when the sun comes through the windows. Ultimately, the curved aspect doesn't seem to provide much (if any) value over a flat set when sitting on my couch
Where curved displays are wonderful, however, is for computer monitors. When you are sitting closer to a display, such as at a desk, it provides a more immersive experience -- particularly for gaming. Today, YEYIAN unveils its latest curved display. The 34-inch "Sigurd 4000," as it is called, features a 3440x1440 resolution, wide 21:9 aspect ratio, and one millisecond response time.
Samsung unveils 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 ultra-wide gaming monitor

PC gamers know how great a curved monitor can be. These displays create a superior gaming experience, allowing the game-player to be immersed in the gameplay. Not to mention, a curved monitor appears very attractive when sitting on a desk -- it simply looks cool.
Today, Samsung unveils one of the most beautiful curved displays ever. Called "Odyssey OLED G8," this 34-inch OLED monitor features a 3,440 x 1,440 QHD resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, 175Hz refresh, 0.1ms response, and AMD FreeSync Premium compatibility. And yes, there is RGB lighting on the rear, because... gaming!
Plugable UD-6950PDH USB-C Dual 4K Display Docking Station features 100W charging

USB-C docking stations are very common these days. Hell, websites like Amazon are littered with countless makes and models. Of course, not all of them are good, nor do they offer the same things. Features can vary from dock to dock, such as the number of USB ports or video outputs. I recommend sticking with reputable brands such as Kensington, StarTech.com, and Plugable to name a few.
Speaking of Plugable, today, that company launches a USB-C docking station that can push two 4K displays at 60Hz at once. Called "UD-6950PDH," the dock also offers 100W of charging and provides an impressive 13 useful ports, including Gigabit Ethernet, USB-A, and both SD and micro SD card readers.
ADATA XPG XENIA 15 KC Windows 11-ready gaming laptop has 165Hz display

Windows 11 is officially here, but not all new Windows computers will ship with that version of Microsoft's desktop operating system. Understandably, for a little while at least, some machines will still come with Windows 10... they will have the ability to upgrade to Windows 11, however.
Today, ADATA unveils such a laptop under its XPG gaming brand. Called "XENIA 15 KC," it comes with Windows 10 Home, but you can absolutely install Windows 11 when you want to. This gaming notebook is downright drool-worthy. It is powered by a very modern 8-core Intel Core i7 11800H CPU and super-powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU. The other components are impressive as well, including 32GB of DDR4-3200MHz RAM, a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, RGB optical mechanical keyboard, and a 15.6-inch display with 165Hz refresh. It's a beast!
Monoprice Dark Matter 42892 is a 27-inch QHD gaming monitor with 180Hz refresh

Monoprice is a brand that in-the-know shoppers have come to love and respect. The company offers quality products at very affordable prices, including things like cables, headphones, mice, and more. If you are shopping while on a budget, you definitely need to check out the company's offerings -- including for PC gaming.
Today, Monoprice launches its latest computer monitor under its Dark Matter gaming brand. Model number 42892, as it is unimaginatively named, is a 27-inch QHD display with 180Hz refresh and a Sharp-made IGZO panel.
Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 curved gaming monitor uses Mini LED display technology

There are two curved displays in my home -- a computer monitor in my office and a television in my living room. Both look stylish, but truth be told, the curve doesn't make any difference when watching TV. Since I sit far back from the television, the curve doesn't add any benefit. On the computer monitor where I sit much closer, however, the curvature lends to a more immersive experience. I can't recommend curved computer monitors enough -- for both gaming and productivity.
Today, Samsung announces its latest monitor, and it is very special. Called "Odyssey Neo G9," the 49-inch display is significant for being the first-ever curved gaming monitor to use Mini LED technology.
Samsung making 90Hz OLED laptop displays

Most computer monitors and laptop displays have a 60Hz refresh rate, which is fine for most users. Gaming screens, however, often go much higher. Of course, a higher refresh is not only beneficial to gamers -- all computer users will appreciate the smoothness it can offer. Hell, just moving the mouse cursor around can be rewarding.
While 90Hz is hardly fancy these days (there are much higher refresh rates), it is apparently unheard of on OLED laptop displays. And so, Samsung is doing something about it. You see, the company is getting ready to mass-produce 90Hz OLED screens (primarily 14-inch) for use in upcoming laptops -- an apparent world's first.
StarTech.com launches new line of premium monitor stands and mounts

When you buy a monitor, it typically comes with a stand. And so, you are stuck using the stand the display came with, right? Actually, no -- not necessarily. If your monitor's stand is removable, you can actually opt for a third party stand. But why would you do this? Quite simply, you can potentially gain more adjustment options, allowing you to better position the monitor for optimal viewing. Not to mention, some can mount to the edge of your desk, creating more workspace. Some stands and mounts even feature multiple arms, so you neatly organize a dual or even quad monitor setup -- great for productivity.
Now, popular company StarTech.com is launching an entire new line of monitor stands and mounts. In fact, there are a massive ten different models from which to choose! Some are simple stands, while others can mount your display to your desk or the wall. Regardless of model, however, they all look well-built and are surprisingly affordable. In fact, this product line from StarTech.com highlights just how absurd it is for Apple to charge $999 for its monitor stand.
BenQ PD2720U DesignVue 27-inch 4K UHD IPS Designer Monitor [Review]

When is a monitor not just a monitor? When it doubles as a Thunderbolt 3 docking station. The latest 27-inch 4K display from BenQ is called "PD2720U," and yes, it essentially has an integrated TB3 dock. In fact, with a single cable, this monitor can charge your laptop, display video, and provide USB ports (USB 3.1 gen 2) for things like mice, keyboards, and more.
Taking things even further, the PD2720U has a second Thunderbolt 3 port for connecting a TB3 device. In other words, you can daisy chain an external GPU, TB3 SSD, or even another display to the computer -- still having just one wire connected to it.
