Microsoft brings AI-powered Copilot features to Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more

At its Ignite 2024 conference, Microsoft today introduced a raft of new features for Copilot, its AI assistant. These include AI agents in Microsoft 365 that can take on unique roles, and Copilot Actions that let users delegate repetitive tasks.
For many people, however, the most exciting updates will likely be the new AI tools for creating custom content and managing tasks more efficiently in Microsoft 365 which are being introduced to Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
Microsoft Office 2024 unveils new Fluent design, updates apps to match latest Microsoft 365 release

Subscription-based software isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Some of us would prefer to pay a one-off fee upfront for a software package we know will last us years without any significant changes. Thankfully, Microsoft caters to both types of user, both with the subscription-based Microsoft 365 range of products and now with a brand new version of its flagship product, Microsoft Office 2024.
Office 2024, which starts from $149.99 for its Home edition, replaces Microsoft Office 2021 and brings the feature set bang up to date. It’s also joined by a new Office LTSC 2024 release aimed firmly at larger organizations who want an on-premises edition for a disconnected or restricted environment.

Logitech releases R500 Laser Presentation Remote and updated Spotlight software

If you are planning to do professional presentations, you must have a remote. I can't stress enough just how important it is to have the right tools for a job. The success of a PowerPoint, for instance, has less to do with the slides and more to do with the energy and personality of the presenter. If you sit in one place tapping on a mouse to move slides along, people are going to get bored. Instead, you should walk around the room while using a remote to change slides. You'll be amazed at how much more attentive your audience will be.
Logitech's Spotlight remote is the best such product I've ever used for presentations, and today, the company announces updated software to make it even better. In addition, Logitech is releasing a more affordable and basic device called R500 Laser Presentation Remote. This new device runs on a single AAA battery and is compatible with Windows, macOS, and even Linux!
Logitech launches 'Red Edition' of Spotlight Presentation Remote

If you work in an office, you have undoubtedly sat through a boring PowerPoint presentation. Yeah, it is easy to criticize the people doing the presenting for being deficient, but quite often, it isn’t their fault. After all, giving a successful presentation is a skill that must be learned. True, some folks are naturally social, but overall, you need to work on it. It is wrong to just thrust an employee into the fire without training.
Practice aside, hardware can help you better present too. A good remote/wireless presenter can improve your presentations dramatically. Not only will it give you the ability to move about the room, but a good model will add functionality too. For instance, the Logitech Spotlight remote can help you to focus on specific aspects of slides by highlighting only what you want. It can even vibrate at timed intervals so you can better keep track of how long you have been speaking. Starting today, the Spotlight gets a new red color option for the holidays.
Satechi Bluetooth Aluminum Wireless Remote is designed for both work and play

If you work in an office, you've undoubtedly seen a PowerPoint presentation. Yeah, they can sometimes be painful to watch, but that is often the fault of the person presenting. True, you typically need to be interested in the content too, but a quality presenter can make almost any slideshow exciting.
But what makes a person a good presenter? Well, obviously, he/she must have confidence, but movement is key too. You cannot sit in your chair and expect your audience to stay awake. Instead, you should move around and get animated. Sadly, if you don't have a proper slideshow remote, you may find yourself tethered to your laptop -- a huge mistake. Today, Satechi releases its newest presentation remote, but actually it is more than that. You see, the company has designed it for fun too, such as controlling music and movies. It even charges using USB-C!
PowerPoint vulnerability enables malware spreading

Researchers have discovered that cyber attackers are exploiting a vulnerability that allows them to elude antivirus software to deliver malware via Microsoft PowerPoint.
The flaw itself exists in the Windows Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) interface and attackers have previously used it to deliver infected Rich Text File (.RTF) documents. Trend Micro's researchers noticed that attackers have now infected PowerPoint files to deliver malicious code.
Startech USB-C to HDMI and VGA presentation adapters [Review]

USB Type-C dongles are a dime a dozen nowadays. Thanks to Apple MacBook laptops that only leverage USB-C, many manufacturers quickly jumped on the bandwagon, producing many adapters, dongles, and other accessories.
As the owner of a 2016 MacBook Pro, I am very familiar with dongles -- I own several. While you might think they are all the same, you'd be mistaken. Not only are they of varying quality, but the features are not the same either. Case in point, the Startech USB-C to HDMI and VGA presentation adapters. They may look like your typical HDMI and VGA dongles, but they have a special feature.
Logitech unveils revolutionary Spotlight Presentation Remote for PowerPoint, Keynote, and more

Microsoft PowerPoint or Apple Keynote presentations are often very boring, but unfortunately, they are a fact of life in the business world. If you have ever sat through a meeting that focused heavily on these slides, you have probably feigned interest and tried hard not to fall asleep. But why? Often, the data held on the screen is quite informative, but if the presenter is a bore, the presentation will suffer regardless. To make matters worse, with more and more employees working remotely, these presentations can be nothing more than slides with audio for some -- those not physically in the room with the presenter can have a lesser experience.
Logitech decided to take a look at the deficiencies of these PowerPoint presentations, with the goal of creating a tool to improve both presentations and the presenters. True, presentation remotes are one such tool that can help, but that segment was very stagnant. Today, Logitech unveils the fruits of its labor -- the Spotlight Presentation Remote. While the elegant device looks simplistic, you should not judge this book by its cover. It is a revolutionary tool for the business world that is chock full of goodness.

Satechi unveils Aluminum Wireless Presenter

In the business world, there are many constants. You probably aren't appreciated by your boss. You likely don't get paid enough for all you do. And of course, you probably have to sit through many horrible PowerPoint presentations.
Don't get me wrong, PowerPoint presentations aren't always bad, but there's a good chance that a large number of them will be boring. If you ever find yourself needing to present your own such presentation, you should invest in a wireless presenter. Not only will it make you look more prepared and professional, but it can allow you to move about the room to keep your audience engaged. Today, Satechi announces an affordable such Bluetooth presenter, with a beautiful aluminum body.
