HyperX unveils Alloy Origins mechanical gaming keyboards with Aqua switches

When shopping for mechanical keyboards, there is probably something you focus on -- key switch colors. If you aren't familiar, the color indicates how the switch will perform. Historically, these switches were designed by Cherry, but over time, keyboard manufacturers started creating their own variants. HyperX, for instance, has its own called HyperX Red (linear) and HyperX Aqua (tactile). They have slightly less travel distance (1.8mm) than some Cherry keys, but are rated to have a much longer lifespan.
Today, HyperX launches two new Alloy Origins Mechanical Gaming Keyboards that use its in-house Aqua switches. One is a full keyboard with a number pad, while the "Core" model is tenkeyless (no number pad). These keyboards are designed for gaming, but of course, they should be great for general use too. These new models feature a braided detachable USB-C to USB-A cable, but you can also use a USB-C to USB-C cable (such as this one) if you prefer. Both variants also have customizable RGB lighting, three on-board profiles, and three angle positions.
HyperX Cloud Flight S gaming headset features Qi wireless charging

Qi is amazing technology, allowing you to charge your smartphone by just placing it on a wireless charging pad/mat. Long gone are the days where you have to fumble around with a cable to charge your phone like a caveman. The thing is, it is hardly new -- it took Apple a while to add it to the iPhone, but the Palm Pre had it over a decade ago. Seriously, folks. Hell, there were even Nokia Lumia Windows Phones with wireless charging! And yet, despite the technology being fairly old in 2020, it is still very cool -- and finding its way onto more device types all the time.
For instance, today, HyperX launches a new gaming headset that features Qi wireless charging. Called "Cloud Flight S," you can drop the headset onto any Qi pad (such as this one) to charge it up, but HyperX is selling its own wireless charger called "Chargeplay Base." If you find yourself without such a charging pad, don't panic -- it can also charge with USB. The microphone can be easily detached for when you just want to listen to music, but also, this is great for privacy. While Cloud Flight S does have a mute option, being able to physically remove the microphone is the most foolproof way to avoid accidentally sharing too much during a gaming session.
HyperX unveils very rare JuJu Smith-Schuster Cloud MIX gaming headset

Back in 2018, HyperX released the Cloud MIX gaming headset. Since then, it has become a very popular option for gamers. Not only does it offer great audio quality, but it looks damn good too. Then, in 2019, the company launched a special rose gold variant.
Today, HyperX unveils yet another model of Cloud MIX gaming headset, but it is extremely limited. How rare is it? Well, only 19 of them are being made, and you can only get them by bidding in an auction. Even more exciting? This is a special model designed with JuJu Smith-Schuster -- wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yeah, these are going to be very popular with both gamers and NFL fans.
HyperX launches Alloy Origins Core tenkeyless RGB mechanical gaming keyboard

If you are a serious PC gamer, a mechanical keyboard is definitely a product worth your attention. While it won't magically make you better at games, it should outperform whatever cheap membrane keyboard you are using now. Even for non-gaming activities, such as typing, some people prefer a mechanical model.
There are tons of mechanical keyboards on the market these days, making it hard for consumers to pick the right one. My advice? Stick with a reputable brand, and if you aren't sure which key color to go for (maybe it is a gift for someone else) opt for red -- it is smooth and not noisy. Red switches are a good choice for someone that doesn't want to annoy other people in a home or office.
Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition gaming desktops have HyperX FURY DDR4 RAM

There are two types of PC gamers -- those that build their own computers and those that buy them pre-built. Neither approach is "better," but still, I typically build my own. Why? Well, I like to make sure that I am getting quality components. For instance, I don't want to get stuck with low quality RAM, storage, or a power supply.
Dell's Alienware line of computers are usually comprised of quality components, and today, we learn that its new Aurora Ryzen Edition gaming desktops will have superior memory. You see, these new computers will use high-end HyperX FURY DDR4 RAM. These are memory modules that in-the-know system builders would choose.
HyperX Cloud MIX gaming headset gets beautiful new rose gold color

A little over a year ago, HyperX launched the Cloud MIX gaming headset. What made this model particularly cool was its ability to work both wired and wireless. In other words, you could use it as a Bluetooth headset when you wanted, but also, using the included cable, you could hard-wire it into your computer or other device.
Today, HyperX launches a new "Rose Gold" edition of the Cloud MIX headset. What new features does it have? Absolutely zero. It is virtually identical to the normal Cloud MIX except it has a new rose gold color. Now, the entire headset isn't rose gold -- it is mostly white. The namesake color is more of an accent. Regardless, it looks quite pretty.
HyperX Pulsefire Dart wireless gaming mouse has Qi charging and RGB lighting

There are many gaming mice on the market these days, so it can be hard for a single model to stand out. I mean, look, there are only so many ways to make a mouse unique. And yet, today, HyperX launches such a product, and it is actually quite special.
Called "Pulsefire Dart," this looks like an ordinary wireless gaming mouse, but it has a pretty cool feature -- Qi charging. Yes, you can charge the mouse using one of those cool wireless charging mats -- the same ones used for Android devices and iPhones. In addition, it features RGB lighting, so you can customize the appearance to your liking.
HyperX unveils Cloud Alpha S gaming headset

Gamescom launches today in Germany, so as you can expect, there will be a lot of gaming-related news over the next several days. There won't only be talk of games, but hardware, devices, and accessories too.
Case in point, today HyperX unveils its latest gaming accessory -- the Cloud Alpha S gaming headset. It is not an entirely new product -- it can be viewed as the existing Cloud Alpha on steroids. And no, the "S" doesn't stand for steroids... at least I don't think so. Actually, it seems the S stands for "Surround" as it offers virtual 7.1 surround sound.
MSI hits 5902MHz with HyperX Predator RAM to set DDR4 overclock world record

Do memory speeds matter? A little bit, yes, but the truth is, benefits seen from incremental increases are negligible at best. Enthusiasts may spend a lot of money buying fast RAM, and hey, there is nothing wrong that -- as long as they understand it is more bragging rights than anything. Gamers, for instance, would be better served by putting more money into their GPU or CPU when building their rig.
With all of that said, it is still fun to see how fast memory can be -- especially when overclocked. RAM made by HyperX -- the gaming division of Kingston -- has apparently set a new world record. MSI used HyperX Predator DDR4 memory to achieve an insane 5902MHz!
HyperX launches 4266MHz and 4600MHz 16GB Predator DDR4 RAM kits

Does RAM speed matter? Well, yes and no. Look, it is a good idea to get the fastest memory that your motherboard supports -- as long as you can afford it. The truth is, the performance benefits from slight increases in MHz often provides a negligible speed improvement. So if you are building a new gaming PC for instance, and you are on a budget, it probably isn't wise to allot too much money for what ends up being nothing more than bragging rights. Maybe focus more on the CPU and GPU instead.
But OK, let's say you are a PC enthusiast without a budget and you do want bragging rights. Well, HyperX has some new RAM that may excite you. Its popular Predator series is getting two new speeds -- 4266MHz and 4600MHz. They will only be sold in 16GB kits -- two sticks of 8GB.
HyperX launches QuadCast Microphone for streamers, podcasters, and gamers

Content creation is huge these days, with everyone wanting to be the next big internet star. Not only are people doing podcasts, internet radio shows, and YouTube videos, but they are streaming themselves playing games too, on platforms like Twitch.
If you want to stand out from all of the other creators flooding the web, you should obviously create enjoyable content and offer a unique personality. Talent isn't everything, however, as the technical aspect is important too. For instance, people want clear video -- nothing dark or grainy. Arguably more important is audio -- no one wants to struggle to hear your voice. Today, HyperX launches a new product that should enhance your audio experience -- the premium QuadCast Microphone.
HyperX breaks DDR4 RAM overclocking world record with 5608MHz speed!

If you are a PC builder and/or gamer, you know this is a wonderful time to be alive. Hardware is faster than ever, while companies are increasingly catering to enthusiasts with components that look great too. And yeah, appearance matters -- assembling a PC is art to many people. It is truly remarkable to see the amazing desktops consumers are building these days. RGB lighting in particular has been a fun game-changer.
When selecting memory for a new build, there are a few brands of RAM that PC builders can always depend upon, such as G.SKILL, HyperX, and Corsair -- all three are excellent. HyperX in particular -- the gaming division of legendary memory-maker Kingston -- has amassed a cult following by consistently offering top hardware at reasonable pricing. HyperX has branched out from RAM, however, also offering storage, headsets, and keyboards to name few. With that said, memory is still its claim to fame, and today, HyperX announces it has reached a huge milestone -- it has shattered the DDR4 memory overclocking world record. Seriously, folks, you won't believe the speed achieved -- 5608MHz!
HyperX announces premium Cloud Orbit gaming headsets for audiophiles

When playing video games online, a headset can really enhance the experience. True, a lot of it is unfortunately having trolls insult you while using foul language, but overall, voice communication is a positive experience that can make online gaming more fun. Not to mention, the headset allows you to hear in-game audio without annoying other members of your home. Hell, wearing headphones can arguably give you an edge over speakers, as you should be able to better hear enemy movements, for instance.
Today, HyperX announces a pair of new premium headsets -- the Cloud Orbit and the Cloud Orbit S. Both are quite similar, except the latter utilizes Waves Nx technology, which tracks the gamer's head movements for a more immersive audio experience. With that exception, the hardware and specs are identical.
HyperX ships more than 60 million RAM sticks

HyperX -- Kingston's gaming brand -- is most well known for high quality RAM. With that said, it has expanded over the years to include gaming peripherals, such as mice, keyboards, headsets, and more. Still, despite a more diverse product offering, memory remains the crown jewel of its business.
To highlight just how important RAM is to HyperX, today, the company makes a shocking announcement. You see, the company has achieved an impressive milestone -- more than 60 million memory modules shipped since 2002!
HyperX 'Cloud MIX' Bluetooth stereo gaming headset is both wired and wireless

For many PC gamers, wired accessories are preferable to wireless. Why? Well, besides potential lag with keyboards and mice, there is a fear of having batteries die during a match. When gaming, nothing is worse than having your mouse, keyboard, or headset stop working. To lose because of such nonsense is utterly maddening.
What if you want the reliability of a wired headset, for instance, but crave the wireless freedom a Bluetooth model offers? Today, HyperX unveils a new headset that is both wired and wireless -- the best of both worlds. Called "Cloud MIX," the headset can achieve up to 20 hours of battery life when in Bluetooth mode.
