How many cameras does your smartphone have? My iPhone 16 Pro, like the Google Pixel 10 pictured above, has four, which is above the current average according to new data from Omdia’s Smartphone Model Market Tracker 2Q25 which shows that the number of cameras in smartphones is falling.

TCL K32 brings Android 15 and 5G to Metro by T-Mobile

If you’re looking for a new Android smartphone and don’t want to break the bank, TCL might have just the thing you need. You see, the company has released its new K32 smartphone, and it’s already available from Metro by T-Mobile here. Impressively, it costs only $119.99 and still manages to bring 5G speeds and Android 15 to the table. Wow!

The K32 features a roomy 6.75-inch HD+ NXTVISION display, which means you get decent visuals for things like YouTube, social media, and video chats. It isn’t going to rival a flagship phone, of course, but for this price point, it’s pretty impressive. Around back, there’s a 13MP hybrid camera that handles casual photos, while the front-facing 5MP shooter should be fine for selfies and video calls.

Listen, do you want to know a password?

Researchers at British universities have demonstrated a technique that allows an AI model to work out what you’re typing simply by listening to the keystrokes.

Known as an acoustic side channel attack (ASCA) it involves recording the sound of a keyboard, either by using a nearby smartphone or via a remote conferencing session such as Zoom. Researchers used a standard iPhone 13 to record the sound of the Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch laptop keyboard at standard 44.1kHz quality.

The Big Brother in your pocket: How a US company secretly tracks and rates half of the world's mobile users

Big-Brother-Smartphone

Imagine a hidden system that tracks and scores you based on every phone call you make or take. It might sound like something straight out of a Black Mirror episode and remind you of China's controversial social credit system. But surprisingly, half of the world's mobile phone users are already part of a similar system, and many of them are Europeans, who are supposed to enjoy the strongest privacy protections.

NOYB, a privacy advocacy group, has filed a lawsuit against the US company TeleSign, a Belgian telecom provider BICS, and their mutual parent Proximus. They claim these companies are unauthorizedly profiling billions of phone users to assign them a 'reputation' or 'trust' score.

Samsung introduces the next generation of its folding phones -- Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4

Samsung’s folding phones didn’t get off to the most auspicious of starts, it's fair to say. Samsung eventually fixed the problems and released the Fold, although problems remained.

Fortunately, the company kept the faith, and overcame the various issues to produce two excellent folding phones, and today the company rolls out its fourth generation foldables -- Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4.
