New research from audio visual solutions and services provider Kinly, shows that 27 percent of AV professionals believe that customer trust in their organization has been weakened by remote work.

The research surveyed 150 UK-based AV professionals working across 'high trust' industries like banking, finance, healthcare, energy, and the public sector, and reveals that communication via open Wi-Fi networks (89 percent) is the top security concern with hybrid work.

Only 18 percent of staff think hybrid working has improved productivity

The survey of 889 employees working in the UK capital markets and legal industries looked to uncover how the working-from-home revolution and subsequent technological adoption have impacted productivity.

32 percent of remote workers use unapproved apps and software

Remote working poses a number of risks from an IT security point of view. A new report from Lookout finds that 32 percent of remote and hybrid workers use apps or software not approved by IT and 92 percent of remote employees perform work tasks on their personal tablet or smartphone devices.

Remote workers are also less likely to follow best practices for security. 90 percent access corporate networks from areas other than their home, with an average of five different locations -- introducing security risks as company data could be exposed across multiple networks not monitored by IT. 45 percent use the same password for work and personal accounts too.

21 percent of government workers don't care if their organization is hacked

With 70 percent of government workers reporting that they work virtually at least some of the time, a new survey shows some worrying trends.

The report from Ivanti finds five percent of government workers have fallen victim to a phishing attempt. However, 34 percent don't believe their actions impact their organization's ability to stay safe.

Women feel discouraged from pursuing tech careers

According to a new report 67 percent of women say they have experienced discouragement or setbacks while pursuing a career in technology.

The global study from managed service provider Ensono also reveals 45 percent have faced discouragement in pursuing a STEAM career in high school or earlier. 44 percent report feeling as if the career path is male-dominated and 36 percent being told the career path is too challenging for women.
