Security specialist StratoKey is announcing what it calls the 'second generation' of cloud protection using behavioral analytics tied to defensive countermeasures, as part of an update to its core StratoKey Cloud Access and Security Broker (CASB) platform.

German tabloid Bild has made a bold move with its website -- blocking anyone using an adblocker from accessing content. Visitors to the site who want to use a tool such as Adblock Plus are now faced with a stark choice: add Bild.de to a whitelist so ads are displayed, or cough up for a €2.99 monthly fee to remove ads.
This is not a move that -- at the moment at least -- every website could get away with. Bild finds itself in the unique position of being the top-selling tabloid newspaper in Europe; it can afford to lose a few visitors with this experiment. With adblocking back in the limelight at the moment, it's time to ask the question: would you rather disable your adblocker or pay to access content?
Windows 10 devices make up more than half of Store downloads
Windows 10 devices were responsible for over 50 percent of all Windows Store downloads in September, according to the latest Windows Store Trends update from Microsoft. The new operating system had been installed on over 100 million devices by the end of last month, increasing its reach to more than 110 million devices earlier in October.
That is not the only piece of good news, as Microsoft also says that Windows 10 gets two times better user engagement and four times the revenue per user compared to Windows 8.x. The most popular category of apps with Windows 10 users is games, which makes up just shy of 45 percent of all Windows 10 downloads.
Facebook pays less in taxes than the average UK worker

New research suggests that millennials in the US and UK have lost trust in the ability of enterprises and governments to protect their personal data online.
The survey comes from digital identity and credentials specialist Intercede and questioned around 2,000 16 to 35 year-olds. It indicates a widespread state of mistrust that has the potential to change the nature of online interactions with public agencies and corporations and points to a need for action to avoid a future backlash.
Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10565 arrives on the Fast ring, includes Skype integration, Edge improvements

What strikes me most about the reaction to Apple’s decision to allow iPhone and iPad Safari browsers to block advertising via third-party software extensions is its reason for doing so.
